Want to be a part of our staff?

We’re looking for someone to manage our social media accounts (Twitter and Instagram) as a marketing manager! This means:

  • Creating and posting content related to our submissions, encouraging people to send their work, promoting our journal 

  • Keeping an eye on engagement numbers

  • Interacting with the lit community (other publications and writers)

  • Keeping up with our incredible former contributors and sharing their new work (a weekly/bi-weekly shout-out section)

  • Sharing other calls for submissions

Familiarity with design programs (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)  and/or Google Analytics are encouraged but not required! Don’t let that stop you from applying :)

 

Please note that this position, as with all our staff positions, is volunteer only. Like many lit mags, we unfortunately cannot pay staff or contributors. All proceeds from tip jar and expedited submissions go toward maintaining our website. 

 

We’re hoping to fill this position within the next few weeks. As part of the selection process, we may ask you to call and speak to a few current staff members.

  • Attach a resume, links to any accounts you currently run/ran in the past, and examples of your work (e.g. a portfolio, a working production schedule for social media posts, caption copy, campaign ideas, metrics on past engagements, etc.).

  • No need for a formal cover letter, but introduce yourself in the body of the email. It’s always good to let us know how you found us or why mental health advocacy is important to you!
